About us
Reconditioning and selling Aga Range cookers and Stoves since 1990
"It all began when a man named John Wray took over the family farm in 1985 and made his living as a dairy farmer. He worked hard every day to provide for his family and keep the farm running smoothly.
But one day, John had an idea. He bought and sold his first Aga in 1990 and slowly began to build a business from it until it eventually took over from farming. It wasn’t easy, but John was determined to make it work and John Wray Country Stoves was born.
In 2008, John’s Daughter Katie and son-in-law Stuart joined the company to keep it as a family-run business. Together they have carried the business forward and kept the company growing. The business operated from the farm located in Catterick Village on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales until 2016 when they moved to bigger premises.
Now, Stuart runs the business with a small dedicated workforce while John enjoys retirement. They are proud of what they have accomplished and grateful for all of their customers who have supported them along the way.
